Becoming a Stages Scorer
Scorers learn to assess using three different STAGES parameters which determine a developmental level. The Accurate parameters can be discerned by responding to three questions:
- Is the object of concern a Concrete object, a Subtle object or a MetAware object?
- Does the test taker prefer an Individual orientation or a Collective orientation?
- What is the learning process this person prefers: Receptive, Active, Reciprocal, or Interpenetrative?
While these are three simple questions, there are very sophisticated ways to respond to them as an assessor. One must be able to analyze the response and score with one’s whole body as well. Mature and sophisticated scoring does not come only from analytical capacities.
How it Works
The scoring course takes one year.
- Two or more inventories must be scored each week with 100 inventories completed by the end of the year.
- Collaborative learning and individual learning approaches will be used.
- Each scoring participant will score the first 80 inventories with a peer and the last 20 will be scored independently.
- Participants will begin by working through this process with their classmates, learning to inter-rate with each other and discuss why their scores are the same as or different from other scorers.
- Developing a scoring community is part of this process and will continue after certification.
By the end of the year, the scoring class participants will have learned how to accurately score the developmental level of the person, and how to write comments about the person they have scored.
Becoming A Stages Debriefer
The debriefing course will follow the scoring course and take six months to complete.
Debriefing is the process of reviewing with clients the results of their assessment. The client will receives a comprehensive report with many written comments from the person who scored the report.
It will identifies the client’s developmental level, their leading and trailing developmental edges, and offers practices to foster further development. The debrief helps the client to understand the results and how to act on them, and can make the report much more personable and actionable.
Prerequisites for Scorers And Debriefers
The training requires that you have a solid background in STAGES based on the following:
- You must have taken a STAGES Assessment with Debrief within the last two years AND you must have completed one of the following STAGES trainings:
- Frontiers of Consciousness (offered in Spring 2018 & Fall of 2019) PLUS either, STAGES Essentials for Psychotherapists & Coaches or, Shadow into Soul
- You are currently participating in the STAGES Certification for Diagnostics & Interventions
- You have attended the STAGES Backstage / STAGES in-depth 5-day workshop previously offered through Pacific Integral
- You have taken a STAGES Debriefing course previously offered through Pacific Integral
